Description

About the Crop Circle Year Book 2013:

If 2012 was the zenith, the tipping point, then 2013 was always going to be a year of change, transition and metamorphosis. Thirteen is the traditional number of transformation; it signifies the unexpected, tempestuous winds of change that ultimately ushers in the transmutation from one paradigm to the next. There can be little doubt that 2013 was a year of change for the crop circle phenomenon; blustery, turbulent, and not a little stormy at times – and that was just the weather! After one of the coldest and wettest of winters, in which many fields flooded, then froze, many crops were simply written off. But that was only a small part of the story. The forms that did unfold in the fields of Southern England were, (for anyone who cared to look a little deeper) highly symbolic, full of immediacy – some could only be described as visionary!

The first formation of the year was a giant compass, its 90° angles slightly askew. It presented us with in an uncomfortable break from the classic symmetry and geometry so beloved by the phenomenon. While it was glibly rubbished by some (for those that peered beyond the veil of superficial illusion), it surely symbolised a re-orientation – an adjustment – all be it to an unfamiliar pitch and bearing. Against all the odds, the 2013 crop circle season presented us with a wealth of material to contemplate: A giant hourglass, a magnificent dream-catcher, a pair of compasses and a cube unhinged! Along with a confetti storm of spirals, spinners, stars and flowers!

This edition combines inspirational photographic and artistic imagery with thought provoking text to create a unique book full of the atmosphere and ambience of this amazing phenomenon.
